Exhibitions to see at Art Safari – Secrets and Treasures Edition
The Home of Brâncuși – Where it all began (temporary exhibition, May 1-19): The village that Constantin Brâncuși made known to the world, Hobița, is the focus of a new temporary exhibition at Art Safari.
The Secret Museum (March 8 – May 26): One of the most important Romanian art collections comes from Topalu, from the shores of the Danube River: Grigorescu, Tonitza, Luchian, Pallady, Baba, Petrașcu, Mützner, Ciucurencu, Dărăscu, Ressu, Iser, Piliuță.
Eustațiu Stoenescu. Portraitist of the Aristocracy (March 8 – July 28): Refined aristocrat, admirer of beauty, a very talented artist, and the greatest Romanian portrait painter of the last century: Eustațiu Stoenescu (1884, Craiova – 1957, New York).
The History of Romania in 100 Portraits (March 8 – July 28): Kings, queens, country leaders, politicians, athletes, people of high culture and other personalities are brought together in an exhibition of portraits from important museums in Romania, now on display for the first time.
The Pangratti Studios (March 8 – July 28): The street that concentrated the most valuable artists of post-war Romania through its famous studios. Corneliu Baba, Ion Nicodim, Gheorghe Iliescu-Călinești, Vasile Gorduz, Georgeta Năpăruș are some of those who created here.
Alma Redlinger. Centenary (temporary exhibition, 8 March – 26 May): 100 years after the painter’s birth, the exhibition brings to the fore the process of permanent construction of pictorial discourse by bringing together a suite of techniques from sketching to painting.
