Are you passionate about art and would like to better understand the key in which to look at a work? Do you want to know stories and curiosities about the artists? What did the first free generation of Romanian artists create, how is the art of the last 30 years?

Each course lasts an hour and a half and is intended to give you a focused and interesting perspective on the proposed topics.

The art “lesson” continues in the exhibitions, where you’ll be able to practice everything you’ve learned. And at the end, we enjoy networking over a coffee or a glass of prosecco.

Course 2: History of the nude in art
Nov. 11 and 12, 7:00-8:30 p.m

The course focuses on a brief history of the nude in art. In the first session we will discuss the way in which the perceptions and representations of the nude have changed in the history of art: from a symbol of the ideal of beauty and perfection to an expression of human vulnerability, the nude has been depicted in art to explore elements such as human nature, sexuality, religiosity or social status. In the second session, we will talk about how exactly the nude was represented in Romanian art, with specifics regarding the social and political transformations that influenced the mentalities in the local artistic space.
