Roots is a visual ode dedicated to the immovable material heritage, a meditation on the unchanged world that served as a source of inspiration for Constantin Brâncuși. This exhibition, organized as part of Art Safari by the National Heritage Institute, celebrates the archetypal image of the traditional home and household as a source of inspiration for artistic creation.
The focus of the exhibition is on the contemplative process that precedes the act of creation.
Roots aims to exhibit a pre-creative stage of Constantin Brancuși’s work, capturing the fragments, the frames of the Romanian village world as the artist probably saw it and which were the basis of his creative vision.

Alexandru Crișan is an internationally recognized and award-winning Romanian architect and photographer, specializing in art and architectural photography, with an electrifying passion for vernacular architecture and the promotion of national heritage. Alexandru Crișan is an explorer in the field of visual arts, a multi-talented artist in a constant search for the perfect image, the discovery of deeper meanings and significance. Alexandru Crișan is an active specialist in the field of visual arts, architecture and academic education, lecturer at the Ion Mincu University of Architecture in Bucharest, researcher at Culture Reserve Association, promoting non-formal education, exploration through the visual medium, strengthening the dialog between tradition and innovation.
