Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) was one of the most important and influential American painters, the leading exponent of abstract Expressionism, known for his innovative drip painting technique. He radically changed the way of painting, abandoning the brush in favor of a more spontaneous and dynamic process, where colors dripped and were splattered onto the canvas.
